On behalf of the Legal Marketing Association, we are delighted to invite you to the 2012 Annual Conference on March 14-16 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel and Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas. The focus of this year’s conference will be Leadership and Effecting Change.
Our committee has put together a conference that will be well worth your time. As the legal industry continues to face a highly challenging and rapidly evolving environment, all legal marketers and business developers, regardless of focus or title, need to help their firms connect with clients in more effective and distinctive ways. To help you do so, our substantive program is distinctive in three ways:
- Case studies. We heard you loud and clear: you don’t want theory; you want practical, real-life applications. All our sessions will feature case studies from within firms.
- Targeted programming. Thanks to extensive outreach to people across the industry by our conference partner, ACI, our sessions are targeted to those topics you said were most critical. We also have more varied formats, with some large group sessions and some smaller, masterclass sessions, tailored to the needs of the particular topics.
- Targeted pre-conference programs. Responding to your feedback, we have two separate programs for first-chair marketers – one for those at NLJ250 firms, the other for those with solo or small departments. We will also have another introductory “QuickStart” session, which has been highly successful in previous years.
Taken together, these features will ensure you can participate in more programming that (1) is targeted to your particular situation and needs; (2) delivers practical value to help you succeed in your job; and (3) provides hands-on techniques you can apply when you return to the office after the conference.
Of course, all the other features of the conference will be excellent as well. The location is terrific, the sponsors and exhibitors are diverse and outstanding, and the opportunities to collaborate, network and reconnect with colleagues from other firms are extensive and invaluable.
We look forward to seeing you in Texas in March.
